Italy is a boot-shaped peninsula linked with Europe in the
North. The Alps stretching from southern Germany through
Ausria, Slovenia down to southern France form the natural
frontier in the North of Italy.
The country is divided into 4 parts, three situated on the
Continent and one on the islands:
Northern Italy: The Alps, the Po
lowland, Les Alpes, the Apennines in Liguria. Piedmont, Valle
d’Aosta are the districts of mountains and fluvial lowlands,
it’s one of the most beautiful parts of Italy.
Central Italy:
The alternation of low-range mountains and plains, variable
relief is interlaced with green lowlands and long sandy
