Carnival Mask


Built on 117 small islands connected by 140 channels and 409 bridges,Venice is a perfect labyrinth in which it is pleasant to saunter, to get lost. Its origin goes up to 453 when the barberian hordes of Attila invaded Italy.
It is on these islands those who would be later called the venetians found their refuge. Four centuries later, they would build Saint Mark cathedral and would exhibit the relic of the saint stolen in Alexandria.
The lion, symbol of the city, has been set right at his famous place since the time. The attribute of Saint Mark is the lion for its Gospel starts with the preaching of Saint John-Baptist in the desert and that the lion is the desert animal.
Owing to its geographical position, which protected the city against the invasions, Venice has become a strategic maritime relay between the Occident and the Orient. The most attractive highlight of Venice is unquestionably the Saint Marc Place, the genuine combination of the masterpieces and the palace. Covered with pigeons, the place is the cultural and artistic core of the city of Venice.

The CARNIVAL

That would be Venice without its carnival... It begins on the Ash Wednesday and lasts eleven days. The next year it will begin on February 14, the Saint Valentine’s Day.
