Getting There and Away

By car
Venice is accessible by car via the highway A4 (Turin-Milan-Trieste).
In Mestre the road joins a highway 11 kilometers (via "della Libertŕ de Ponte"), which is to be crossed to reach the lagoon.
Take care not leave  Piazzale Roma by car, for there will be no parking.
Another way to go to Venice is to leave your car in  Mestre and use the public transport providing  excellent circulation to Piazzale Roma.

By plane
The airport of Venise/Tessera, "Marco Polo," is situated  13 kilometers from the city, it co-operates with the principle international airline companies
. To see the dates, the flight timetable and to book your ticket.

By train
The railway station of Venice, called Santa Lucia is situated: S. Lucia Quay, near to the right end the Grand Channel. Trains from all over Italy and Europe arrive  to the station daily. The station of Mestre, sur le firma de  terra, is in Piazzale Favretti

THE PRINCIPALE BUS AND BOAT ROUTS:

 

AIRPORT MARCO POLO/CENTRE OF THE CITY

To Venice by bus /Piazzale Roma bus n°5 ACTV : every 30 mn - after 8.00pm, every hour (ride duration = 25 mn) - fee : 0,77 euros
Bus ATVO : every 30 mn (ride duration = 25 mn) - fee : 2,50 euros.
The last bus : about midnight.

From Piazzale Roma to the centre , by ferryboat, line n° 1 and 82, line ACTV, fee for a person : 3 euros
By boat towards Venice/San Marco/Lido
Motoscafo Alilaguna ACTV/Coop. San Marco (ride duration = 1h10 to San Marco)
fee for a person: 8 euros
Boat-Taxi to San Marco for two persons with lugguge, fee : 70 euros approximately.

Information about the islands Lagune Burano-Murano and Torcello

You can reach the Murano island from Venice via ferryboat circulating every 15 minuts, from San Zaccaria (Riva degli Schiavoni), from Piazzale Roma, from the railway satation Santa Lucia and from the station Fondamenta Nuove line n°5.

To reach the Burano island and Torcello - line n° 12, terminal at the station Fondamente Nuove (circulating every hour, more frequently in the afternoon). There is a special touristic boat service Venise-Murano, Burano-Torcello from la Riva degli Schiavoni including an excursion to the museam of the Glassworks and the lacework collection in Burano
